Plant Unit
So as we grow our plants we are also studying parts of a plant and going over plant vocabulary. I came across a really cute set in AC MOORE ($8, but you can easily get 50% off with online coupons) and I printed out a book from readinga-z.com (one weeks free membership). I used the back of the packaging from the plant parts to make the insert for the tray (which I also bought at AC Moore for $1).

Great Christian booklets and activities
There are some really beautifully and simply made FREE printable books for children about the bible, you can also print them in black and white so your children can have coloring them in.

Started our Seedlings!
So excited we started out seedlings and tried different items to plant them in. So far what worked best is the egg shells. The cardboard just soaks all of the water up. Let's see what happens!

President day activities
For president's day we took out some books from the library and learned the role and importance of a president. We also learned about the American flag and it's meaning.
So for our flag activity we looked at our flag, counted how many stripes there were and tried to count all of the stars as well!
We made star cut outs with our paper puncher and glued them on. The girls had a blast. :)
Some activities to do you can find below.

Patriotic Playdough
We decided to make some easy to make play dough using the colors of the American Flag. We had fun making different shapes and even our patriotic cupcake! Yum! Next time we will add more food coloring to make it the actual colors we were planning!
The recipe for this easy (but greasy) play dough is:
4 cups white flour
1 cup water
1 cup vegetable oil
1 tsp color (mix with liquid)
You can break the recipe down into quarters so you can make more of different colors. The 4 cups makes too much!
